My research is focused on the use of molecular genetic approaches to the study and conservation of wildlife, particularly orang-utans. Since Fall 2016, I am a Visiting Scientist in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Where I direct the Molecular Ecology and Evolution Laboratory at Henry Vilas Zoo. I originally trained in Zoology at the University of Aberdeen. We use theatre to teach children about positive conservation. Our aims are to empower audiences to make a difference to conservation both globally and locally.
